We, as human beings, are in a special way blessed in a twofold sense. Our unusual imagination and our emotional power provides us foresight, allow us to think, to analyze, to interpret and finally lead us to action. One can say that actions are based on the reality of each human. This subjective reality of each individual can lead to an ordinary or an extraordinary life. Even though every individual has for himself clearly defined values and morals, it seems that the human being as a whole strives for a common goal: to live happily as possible and to be satisfied. Not only in a personal way but also in community. It sounds logical that happiness perfects humans, since it is the essential good of existence in the hereafter, which gives joy of life, hope and lead to satisfaction in the long run.
Thinking about what might be good in the long run can be interpret as a special form of living in the future and neglecting the present. The rational human being thinks and acts sophisticated and is guided by reason. Since antiquity, philosophers have been thinking about reason. How much reason do we have? What may prevent us to act reasonably? And is it wise to make use of it at all or can it be possible for reason to narrow us down? So many questions, which are making it sound paradoxical to say that reason diminishes human freedom. For a better understanding in light of this, it is essential to have a look at perception: Reason perceives everything around us and everything inside us. Some may say that the less it perceives, the more it perceives, and for some other this may sound incomprehensible. The point is that, the more is perceived by reason, the more factors are added from which this reason wants to protect the individual.
But do our life’s need this kind protection? If we assume that our life is a painting located in a picture frame, then the painting is black at the start of each path of life. It depends on each individual to enrich it with colors, due to the journey of life – to complete the image, not only with colors of joy, happiness, adventure and love, but also with colors of mourning, loss and disappointment. If we act reasonable and only use already existing colors to paint our image, all pictures in the world would look the same. Even if they are all created and painted individually. This kind of adaptation may cause that the image is robbed of many unique colors, that could be created by creativity, obstinacy and especially by individuality.
There seems to be an eternal battle between the human heart and its mind. The mind is to be regarded as the rational instrument. The instrument that saves us. The instrument that fills us with reason. But what about our heart? Our soul? What if both could seek a special flame that ignites and inspires new ways of life. A flame that inspires us to something new, or something hidden deep down in our bones, which is just in need of some courage to define new colors of life? We are all born artists. Our main challenge is to remain artists no matter what obstacles may come and not to adapt into given circumstances because of anxiety due to helplessness and the fear of rejection of previously undiscovered art.
Let your soul inspire you, so you can inspire the world!
